Fun in the kitchen and other projects
It's a rainy, overcast February vaction here in NH so the kids and I have been experimenting. I let them both try their hands at Kool Aid dyeing and did a large dye project of my own. Mine was 9 skeins of Paons Classic Wool I found on clearance. Started out as a light purple that totally wasn't my color but couldn't be passed by at half off, especially when I had a coupon for 20% off that price. Each skein came out quite different but I think I can use them for a sweater if I alternate skeins as I knit. Then there's the kids' projects. Zoe dyed her yarn bright orange and Fin and I dyed his maroon. Now I just need to figure out what to make them with their yarn.

ongoing projects and aggravation
I'm currently working on the Hemlock Ring blanket for myself. I've been wanting to knit it for ages and my LYS is having a KAL so I decided now was the time. I'm using Cascade Eco wool in the natural brown color. Last night I was knitting away and my cable came right out of the connector! A bunch of stitches were dropped and I'm now stalled until Knit Picks gets me a replacement cable. Who knows how long that might take. Boo.
I also have an experiment started. I wanted to see how feasible knit curtains would be so I have my first cast on with Fisherman's Wool and I'm a couple inches in. Not sure if they'll be full length drapes or just cafe curtains yet.
While I'm waiting for me new cables so I can work on my Hemlock Ring I'll be working on the curtains and will most likely start Holla for myself, too. Also in Cascade Eco but a heathered green this time. Another sweater for me! Yay for the year of selfishness.

And some not so selfish knitting
2010- the year of selfishness
I haven't updated in ages. Too busy knitting. I've finished a bunch of stuff recently and a lot of it has been for me. Two pairs of mittens, a hat, and even a sweater are all done. I have a few WIP that are for me or my house, too. Here are the mitts and hat. A picture of the sweater will come once my camera's batteries have charged.
